Review of Centra by Centara Avenue Hotel in Pattaya
Centra by Centara Avenue in Pattaya is located just a few meters walk from Soi Buakhao. While Soi Buakhao tends to be loud and busy, but rest assured, you are in a quiet area. A huge plus is the Bahtbus on Soi Buakhao that drives you through the entire Soi Buakhao down to Second Road, which gives you easy access to Walking Street as well.
You have plenty of restaurants and bars available within a minute of walking distance.
There is a small private parking which is guarded at night - a good thing to know if you plan on renting a motorbike. A swimming pool and gym is available on the roof of the hotel. Both are relatively small.
After having stayed for 10 days in this hotel I wanted to share my experience with you. I stayed in August and paid approximately $35 per night. The rates vary and I have seen them as low as $28/night.
The hotel is joiner-friendly. As always, I booked the hotel for 2 adults but checked in alone.
Hotel Lobby
The lobby was clean and a good place to hang out, whether to complete some work on the go or chitchat with your friends.
Wi-Fi is available in this area.
There is also a small coffee bar serving coffee and co for about 60 Thai Baht.
The Rooms
In my case, I had rooms 505 and 405. Upon arrival, the check-in process was friendly and fast. I was required to leave a 2000 Thai Baht deposit which will be refunded on check-out.
I was initially assigned room 505. However when entering the room I immediately noticed a rather bad smell. Looking around a bit, I found too many corners which were moist and not clean. Just looking at the blanket I could see hair from a previous person staying here. Having informed the reception, they now assigned me to room 405.
The cleanliness was a tad better than in the previous room, so I stayed in room 405 for my stay.
At first glance the rooms seem modern. Some rooms come with a balcony. My room unfortunately didn't have one. Wi-Fi is available for free, at average I had download speeds of 30mbit. There are quite a few international TV channels available.
The bathroom was rather small, had a shower and a rainfall shower. Fresh towels were provided every day by room service.
Conclusion
The location of the hotel and direct access to public transport makes this hotel very attractive. If you happen to get a room that doesn't seem clean to you, don't hesitate to complain. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I would stay here again!
