No alcohol days in Thailand

Did you know that during five different days throughout the year, alcohol is banned in Thailand? Alcohol cannot be sold or consumed during these days. You should respect this law - because if you don't, you may face a fine.

Obviously alcohol plays a big role in cities like Pattaya and Phuket (Patong). Many bars remain open during these days - however they only serve food and soft drinks such as orange juice and water. You should expect many bars and discos to remain closed during these days.

What is the best club in Walking Street, Pattaya?

Are you planning your next trip to Pattaya? Sure enough you know you find nightclub after nightclub in Pattaya's Walking Street. But what are the differences between the clubs?

Now, obviously, I am writing from my own experience. Everybody has a different taste of music but I do my best do have a neutral opinion when writing about each of these clubs.

The discos, clubs or bars mentioned below are sorted by distance from the Walking Street entrance at the Pattaya Beach. I am not including Beer bars or Agogo bars in this post but only typical clubbing places.

The Stones House, 808 Club, The Pier, Mixx Club, iBar and Insomnia, MIAMI, Lucifer, ..

Review of Centra by Centara Avenue Hotel in Pattaya

On my recent trip I used freejoiner to browse girl-friendly hotels in Pattaya. The booking process was fast and easy.

I have chosen the Centra by Centara Avenue Hotel for my stay this time, considering it had good reviews and was well located near Soi Buakhao.

After having stayed here for 10 days in this hotel I wanted to share my experience staying at this hotel.

Centra by Centara Avenue in Pattaya is located just a few meters walk from Soi Buakhao. While Soi Buakhao tends to be loud and busy, but rest assured, you are in a quiet area. A huge plus is the Bahtbus on Soi Buakhao that drives you through the entire Soi Buakhao down to Second Road, which gives you easy access to Walking Street as well.

You have plenty of restaurants and bars available within a minute of walking distance.

There is a small private parking which is guarded at night - a good thing to know if you plan on renting a motorbike. A swimming pool and gym is available on the roof of the hotel. Both are relatively small.
